Just wondering if anyone has travelled around South Africa with either Bazbus or in a hire car? There are two of us travelling and we're a bit concerned about being restriced by Bazbus so hoping for some advice
Thanks, think we're gonna go for Bazbus being newbie travellers - thinking the downsides might be outweighed by meeting loads of people and getting advice
consider hiring a Car when you're in Cape Town. Necessary for getting to the spread out winelands and other attractions. A quick must do list: walk up to Table mountain and return by cablecar, Kirstenbosch, Cederberg,West Coast, hout Bay for additional info i am also at virtualtourist

A bit of arb advice if you're going to hire a car in SA. Make sure to check your car tyre pressures properly. We recently came across a few travellers in Hogsback, having hired a car, with very different pressures on all the wheels. Only checked because we helped them change a flat...
In fact, check just about everything before going on long trips... Distances travelled are usually big and you don't want to take chances.

The Cape Town sightseeing bus is apparently a great option to see the sights around Cape Town. Check it out at: http://www.citysightseeing.co.za/ and at R200 a day it is a bargain.
