Hi everyone
My boyfriend and I are on a world trip which started at home in Glasgow. We've worked our way using train, boat and coach (and school bus, motorbike, tuk tuk and rowing boat!) through Europe, Russia, China, S.E Asia and then down into Kuala Lumpur and now we are in Singapore.
We are trying to get to Australia without flying. We have been doing a lot of research into this and it appears that the only options are
1) Finding a private yacht travelling from somewhere in Indonesia to Darwin/Cairns and paying to come on board/working on board 2) Finding a cargo ship willing to let us come on board!
We have sent copius e-mails to companies etc and signed up to Find a Crew.net, as well as posting ads on things like Gumtree.
If anyone has any other ideas or experiences in the matter, we would be so grateful for your thoughts. We are really, really determined to do this and any help (including any relevant contacts!) would be appreciated!!!
Thanks
Nikki
