has anyone info on the company who does the most reasonable 4/5 trip to the salt lakes in bolivia staying in cheaper accom and starting from Uyluni
Hiya,
I can't remember the name of the company I used, but when you get to Uyuni, you can just walk the main street and browse the different companies available. The accommodation on the flats is all very basic, and you go to the same places, whichever company you choose. I was travelling off-season, and turned up the night before and got a trip the next day.
When you say "4/5 trip" do you mean 4/5 people or days? Most trips are 2 or 3 days. I did 2 overnights to San Pedro de Atacama in Chile -- which was enough as it was VERY VERY cold!! If you mean 4/5 people, then I think you can sometimes haggle a better deal in a group - given how many people a jeep can carry!
I was just with one person, but we met 4 Taiwanese in one company, and went with them, so 6 in our jeep, and it was loads of fun!!
Stock up on the alpaca garments though!!!!!! It was brilliant, just cold!!
