When traveling to Iran, women and men often have questions about how to dress. However these rules are not observed very strict, especially for tourists and foreigners; but observing the basics of Islamic dress code and wear the hijab or hejab is necessary in Iran.

o matter what color you choose, Wearing scarf and covering their body with long sleeves loose clothes like man shirt, coat or manteau in public is obligatory for women. Arms and legs should not be bare but sandals and bare toes are okay. Some Iranian women generally wear a black sheet called a Chador (Farsi for Tent) whenever they are outside the house. Wearing chador isn't essential at all except when entering a mosque or holy shrine. Wearing pants and short-sleeved shirts if you are man is ok; But shorts is forbidden.
