Hello Everyone,
I am new to this site, but I really need some flight help. I am going to Cuba next week and I have a really tight connection at the Houston Intercontinental Airport - 50min turnaround. Does anyone out there know if this is possible or more accurately if it is likely that I will make this connection?
I'd really appreciate some guidance on this - my travel agent wasn't really any help I will wisely never go back to her!
Thanks.

Here are minimum connecting times at IAH

HOUSTON
IAH - George Bush Intercontinental (20 miles N of Houston city center)
IAH
Domestic to Domestic - 45 minutes
Domestic to International - 1 hour
International to Domestic - 1 hour
International to International - 1 hour 15 minutes

Any connecting time lower than this is possible, but not sanctioned. In your case, 50 minutes is less than a minimum connecting time, so you do it at your own risk. If you loose your flight due to a misconnect, you may loose your onward ticket.

It depends on a few things - how many bags you're taking, how many people you're with, and how fast you can run through that airport! I did an int'l-int'l through Miami in April [Barbados-Miami-Costa Rica], literally ran through the gates after getting and transferring my bag, and got there with seconds to spare. It's pretty hectic

Are you flying from within the US to Houston? Is it possible to have your bag checked right through to Cuba? That's one of the biggest uncertainties - sometimes it's fast and sometimes it takes half an hour.. You should be able to check in for both flights and receive both tickets at the start airport so if you can eliminate the big uncertainty you might just be able to make it!

Obviously this also means no food or bathroom stops though tongue.gif Be prepared..
