is it wise to buy Argentine pesos in U.S. and take them along wit plenty of $ ?

Unless you are going to enter Argentina via an obscure land entry point where it might not be easy to exchange your $'s, I think you really don't need to buy Argentine pesos beforehand. More than likely the exchange rate you will get in the US will also be quite poor.

If you are flying into Argentina, I am sure you will find exchange facilities at the airport. I would also just bring a debit and/or credit card that will allow you to access ATM's as well if you need to.
