My friend is with this girl from Vietnam, Dalat. He sends her $2,000 every month for 4 years without fail. As they are not in the same country, they see each other only about 10 days a year but he loves her very much. Now he wants to marry her, she refuses to marry him and wants to walk away. My friend is heartbroken. Is there no such thing as true love?

Of course there is, but obviously not here. Out of interest, why does he only see her 10 days a year? And why does she want to walk away?

And why does he send her $2000 every month, as they weren't even married?

Right? I mean I am sorry, but that wasn't a real smart thing to do, I mean it seems to me she was using him for the money, until something better came along, or as well as!

I think this is the craziest thing I've read. It's like a high school maths question...! Wait and I'll try and figure it out...

$2,000 x 12 months x 4 years = $96,000
No.of days seeing the girl per year = 10 x 4 years = 40 days
$96,000 / 40 days = $2,400 per day of 'true love'

I haven't been able to factor in the travel costs for your friend to get to Vietnam once a year, as I don't know where they're going from, but I think the answer to this equation (I'm sorry to say) is: True love = Mug!

Damn that girl in Vietnam. She never loved him.

Not like I do.

Can he please send me $2000 a month? I love him very much.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmmm, a number of years ago my sisters in Vietnam (their entire family of 5) lived on $600 a year.

$2000 a month? That is a lot in Vietnam. It is a lot anywhere. Even in Australia I didn't earn that much.

How did he afford to do that?

Anyway - it is a shame that things haven't worked out. But they either need to fix things up or move on. I don't think this forum will help them much.

And the $2000 a month could do wonders for me air_kiss.gif hug.gif air_kiss.gif

I think it had something to do with crushing hope.

Picking it up an wringing it out afterwards was just a bonus.

You guys.... air_kiss.gif

I never used to think so until I got my calculator out! I have now reset my dating benchmarks. wub.gif

We never did find out where this guy was from did we? I'm just wondering if moving to Ireland was my best move, or if I should have gone elsewhere...!

Maybe we should start a new thread entitled "spotted" where our travelpodders globally hunt for this mug, sorry, lovely millionaire...?
