This may be a dumb question, but this will be my first overseas trip. I have a four hour stopover at Changi airport on the way to the UK and on the way back. I assume I need Singapore dollars to buy anything at the airport - yes? Is it better to get a little bit of cash before leaving Australia, or should I change it at Changi? (I will be taking credit cards, travellers cheques, and cash in British pounds and Euros.

I have never been to any major airport where there hasn't been a currency exchange counter. For convenience, if you have the time, you could get a few Singapore dollars (SGD) at the airport before you take off.

It would probably be handy to have a few local bucks but it 's not the end of the world if you get there without any.

Shops at all major airport accept foreign currencies (Dollars/Pounds/Euros). There are several currency exchanges at Changi Airport - you can convert it to any currency you want
