Alrady, I found a Hostal for you, HOSTAL BOGOTA REAL. It is in a nice neigorhood, the night is $28 and they will pick you up at the airport for an extra $9 so you don't have to take a taxi.(I found that hee in Travelpod Hostales)
I think this is the smartes way to go, although, you could find hostels that are cheaper, but they are in downtown bogota, really far way fom the airport; and you can take a taxi, but since yo don't know the city or speak the language they may mugg you or just take you for a long ride to charge you more than $9 bucks.
Good luck,
Caro!

QUOTE(winster @ Sep 6 2006, 10:02 AM) I fly in to Bogotá and don’t catch a flight to Santa Marta until the next day. I was wondering if there is a cheap place to stay by the airport, maybe an Hostel. It doesn’t matter about if it is nice or not; I just don’t want to miss my flight the next day. What you want is a website, www.sleepinginairports.com I used to think it was a bit of a joke website until I had the prospect of a night in KL airport, it's a great site. Although if you have the cash, take the bed anyday! Cheers, Ron.

QUOTE Alrady, I found a Hostal for you, HOSTAL BOGOTA REAL. It is in a nice neigorhood, the night is $28 I sent them an email and they sent one back saying it would be $40 us. I wrote them back saying that there website says $30, so they havent returned my email. Looks nice in the pictures but I dont know?? QUOTE Also, as a tip, remember to take some extra cash to the airport when you leave for the Exit Fee. When I left this past monday, it cost me $126,000 pesos. I'm not too sure but I believe that I heard it was $44 in USD. Im confused?? I read this on a website and if I am reading it right you have to pay some sort of exit fee? Is this true?

QUOTE Winster, getting back to the airport may be a pain in the butt. Traffic in Bogota is crazy and you may get stuck. I don't know what to tell you. Getting in the next flight shouldn't be a problem just be there one hour an a half early, Let me know what do you want to do Caro! I think you may be right about getting back to the airport being a pain in the butt. First off another person I'm getting help from says that depending on what your license plate number is depends on weather you can drive that day (or something like that) and also that I should be at the airport 3 hours early before my flight. That would mean I need to be there around 4 am in the morning. So I’m thinking I should just stay at the airport. If this is the case then do you have any recommendations including safety precautions that I should take at where and how I crash at the airport? Why would I have to be there so early before my flight? Once again I want to thank you for all your help!
