At what point do houseguests wear out their welcome?

Does it matter if they're family or friends? What's the longest amount of time you've had houseguests?

I hope im not one of those house guests hehe i been staying with family in Australia a lot basically living with them most the time i been here accept the month and half that i went travelling and now im staying where i work during the week!

I like to think that people could just be honest with each other and work around each other. If I told someone they could stay as long as they liked I'd mean it, if I said you can come and stay for a week I'd mean a week. All too often people don't actually say what they mean and thats when it gets to a position of someone 'outstaying' their welcome.
