Hi All

I'm travelling to the United States, NY for the first time (I'm from South Africa). I'm staying over for 6 nights. I've already settled my accomodation and I was wondering how much I would probably need to survive comfortably considering shopping and meals!

It depends what need/want. Are you staying in hostels or hotels? Hostels are about $40 a night while hotels are about over $200 a night. A budget meal is $10 while eating out will be $20 or a lot more.

Thanks for the response smile.gif I'm staying at an apartment kind of but I've already paid for that, I just wanted to get an idea of how much I should budget on average just for food, activities and shopping.
