I am a forum a regular, but a pretty green traveller. I bet many of you are the opposite. Often when I am online, I see names in the forum I don't recognize. You have a lot to contribute. This is an amazing community. I for one would not only love to hear what you have to contribute, I may even benefit from it. angel1.gif Plus we are all really evil, and the hazing will bring so much joy. devil.png Please give us joy. I'm kidding about the hazing...maybe flowers.png

HOORAY! punk.gif I'm Keith too. Yeah, it's a pretty amazing name, but I think I live up to it.
I love your moniker (is that what it's called) I had to go another direction or mine would have been seldomtravell. or even armchair adventurer, haha
Great to see you diving in here! dance3.gif
Saw your horror stories entry too. Still think I'd try hostels myself. Only tried them here in Canada, but it went pretty well.

Only just realised that the ICU in the title was meant as "I see you". I was wondering what Intensive Care Units had to do with this thread lol wacko.gif

That was how I felt when I finally figured out ICQ meant I seek you.

Anyway...KEITH! Welcome to the site! Sounds like you have found your people...I loved Ireland...tho I don't remember a whole lot, funnily enough.

CUO (that means see you around)

Theresa, it is a fun playground here, dive in and let the giggles abound. It's a real hootenanny. Colour me jealous on your travels.. I'll get my turn, I'll just have to bide my time....

Claire, my folks were sort of like that when I took off on my first solo trip to SEA. I think parents have a hard time taking it all in b/c perhaps they have not had these kinds of experiences and b/c they are your folks so they're probably just worried about you.

When I got back from my trip, my parents were so proud of me, and from my travels I was able to help them learn more about the places I had been, which they welcomed. I even overheard my mom and dad speaking proudly of me and what I had accomplished in my travels, whichsurprised me but made me happy as well. People are funny sometimes when they're scared.

Welcome to Travelpod Claire!

Welcome to the forums fluffy Claire,

Right with you on England, I left there in '04 and haven't stopped smiling since. You've certainly come to the right place to meet fellow explorers, and your plans sound great. See you around the forums.. thumbsup.png

I hear, or so a little bird tells me, that it can be very affordable to get to England now. Isn't it interesting, that the home each of us aspires to stray from is the exotic destination another strives to reach. Maybe I'll reach your turf one day soon. Curse the obligations that keep me where others dream to travel. I think a day trip to the mountains may have to come soon for me.
