We have signed up to make a 7 day trek to Machu Picchu via Choquequirao (Machu Picchu's lost sister). We are hoping to find fellow trekkers to join us on this trip. A description of the trek is on the link below. If you go to the Trekker's Wanted page, we are the 2 people confirmed for departure on May 22, 2013. We are spending 4 days in the sacred valley and cuzco prior to the trek to acclimatize.
The trek starts in a town called Cachora. We hike down to the Apurimac River and cross it on a cable car (the bridge washed out a couple years ago), then up to the partially excavated site of Choquequirao. The next few days are spent hiking towards Aguas Calientes. We'll have a short ride in a vehicle at the end, then a tour of Machu Picchu and return to Cuzco by train.
Sound exciting? Do you love to hike, explore, and meet like minded travellers? We are not affiliated with Apus Peru; they are our chosen outfitter.
