Went to Istanbul a couple of months ago to shop for glass beads. Found out there's a useful website with information about where to buy what and even to hire a personal shopper. Worth a look.
Grand Bazaar was authentic and has an oriental style fascinating place.
Met with personal shopper istanbul it was very nice experience to discover grand bazaar with him. It is a very complex issue where to buy what in grand bazaar. Most probably you will need a personal shopper for istanbul grand bazaar shopping.
I can recommend you may be find it useful check it out,

I was there last year. I could have used a personal shopper, the Grand Bazaar is quite overwhelming. I will keep a note of that website for my return visit. Thank you.

My family and I used another, older personal shopping service when we went to the bazaar.
Istanbul Personal Shopper (www.IstanbulPersonalShopper) was featured in the Washington Post travel section, as well as magazines in the UK and US, and TV.
Run by long-time expats living in Istanbul, they are known for not accepting commissions from merchants, unlike most other tour companies. We avoided touristy stores and got great deals. For carpets, we went into one of the wholesale warehouses near the bazaar and saved a bundle over what we would have paid for the same thing in the bazaar.
I definitely recommend their services.

Thanks for that information, trekkervicky and bhaklava. It certainly seems a great scheme.

Here is a direct link to the Istanbul Personal Shopper website.
