I was long ago seduced by the appeal of Spain and in particular the sun-kissed South. I loved my travels there so much I settled here in 2001 and remain entranced by the country. However I have been disturbed by the damage that's been done to the reputation of the country abroad and to its economy and social fabric by the property boom, and now bust. There are some that are trying to talk up a new boom and encourage another bout of property excesses. The property developers and estate agents have done enough damage - lets just have a few years to take stock and leave the cranes idle. Anyone investing in Spanish property now would be a fool anyway:
