I have been researching flights from san jose to rio de janiro, Im disappointed with the price of the flights...

the cheapest one I have found is copa airlines

http://www.copaair.com/homepage.aspx?lang=en

it will cost $729us one way(1460 nz dollars yikes!!) with a massive stop over in panama, does someone know of a better international airline thats cheaper. Maybe one from costa rica or brazil?

i also had a look at despagar which compares airlines within the area, copa coming out the cheapest.. at $760us ish.

http://translate.google.com.au/translate?h...%3D88n%26sa%3DG

it just seems expensive to me as i can fly from nz to brazil for around 950 nz dollars return.....??? er

any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Try this website, it uses a number of search engines to find prices for multiple airlines.

www.farecompare.com

it links with Expedia, Travel Zoo plus a couple of other travel search engines.

Let me know how you go....

When do you need the flight for?

What are the dates that you need again? I found round trip flights in August (random date) for around $1000 on http://www.tripadvisor.com/flights

On Vayama.com, I got a price of around $650 US flying on about July 15. But it does have 3 stops and total time is +24 hours!
If you want the cheapest fares and the timing is not critical, search for a Wednesday or Saturday departure. Those tend to be the cheapest days of the week to travel on.
