I came up with an a very interesting article just now that I wish to share it.

How open are we with people!
Do you try to understand what they really want to tell you?
Are you really listening or just nod your heads showing that you respond and listen but in reality you are ...somewhere else?

I think you will like it....and please add comments if you wish. download.gif yes.gif

Sometimes I think I listen too much - if that's possible!

I have found the best way to meet and talk to people is to sit outside a bar, an empty table, 3 chairs (I'm sitting in the fourth one) with an ash tray

People always come out for a smoke and of course they see the ash tray, they ask to use it, I then offer them a seat (okay I know this may offend trhe none smokers out there) I can put up with their smoking, then a conversation just develops

It has certainly worked for me, while I was in Egypt I met some great people

I met an officer who closed all the barracks in Berlin for the last time

I met a bloke who lived opposite my wifes sister

I met a Swiss clock maker

I met another bloke who just lived for sky diving

I met soldiers on leave, soldiers who had left the forces

I met so many different nationalities and they all wanted to talk about their own country

You dont have to talk much, just listen, people love talking about themselves and of course thats why you asked them to join you

This may not be your ideal way of meeting people, but I found it works for me and okay they are smoking, but I am out in the fresh air

I dont mind if people disagree, but tell me about your better way

I am considered to be a good listener and I always had friends from school who would pick me to talk to.

I am open to people, and I love letting them talk. There are times when we badly need to share things with other people.

Depending on my mood and on the person sitting next to me, most of the times I like to talk to the one sitting next to me while on a flight. I have also found many interesting people out here.
I also love starting conversation with people I find in the different hotels or places I visit. I love exchanging ideas and tips and it is here that I find real interesting people, people who travel and want to tell you about their trip experience.

I find people on aircraft the most boring ever, they just want to watch a screen or read, never really had a decent conversation with anyone on a plane

But in a bar, coffee show, everyone wants to talk about themselves, just sit back, listen, throw in a question every now and then, before you know it, you will have their whole life history

People are at their best when talking about themselves yawn.gif

I sat in a popular central restaurant for dinner after walking through the centre of Athens for more than 3 hours and I happened to sit next to a couple from Liverpool.
We started talking all of a sudden and in reality what came out of it might be a good friendship. The guy was Greek and the lady Cypriot but living in the U.K.
We were talking for more than an hour about different things....travelling etc etc.
We took many photos, exchanged e mails, I had an invitation to the UK and the three of us do the District Lake, and we kissed and hugged when we said goodbye.

So, if you are open and happen to find people who share the same thoughts and who are also open.....you never know. There is always the chance of a new friendship!
