Has anyone seen this before? ??? Is this a real photo, or is it doctored or what?

I think the pictures are probably doctored somewhat. After looking at the most typical photos of MP, I can see that given the proper perspective and lighting a face "may" be seen. However, I don't think under normal conditions it is as visible as the photos you posted suggest.

As for whether it is significant or was a reason that the site was originally selected by the Incas, I really am skeptical.

I had a quick look at my photos and you could sort of see a face but no where near as perfect to these shots. So I tend to agree that it is doctored somewhat.

Check my blog there are over 140 pics from Machu picchu taken a few days ago. None look like these. Some of mine are no good and I will delete them when I get home to a better computer but there must be a few to compare.

dzasta, here's one from your blog...it's KIND OF close to those pictures at the top. With a little imagination....there MIGHT be a face there.

I think you need a different angle though.

I think it's a lucky camera angle/sunlight, but probably doctored...where did it come from Louise?

I just got it on StumbleUpon...I can't remember the site now, but it was one of those conspiracy theory type websites.

In that case....I don't quite believe...!

My friend has a group on FB, titled "Things that look like faces, but really are not" - now there are some better (non-doctored) ones...!

LOL! These ones are definitely more for the fun imagination! Instead of posting them all, I've asked my friend to send the url if she has it..if she can't, I'll post a few...! (but you can search for the group on fb too if you can't wait!

so...i'm peruvian, but i live in florida. and i went to visit my family in peru last summer and we visited machu picchu. while we were there, i bought this poster of machu picchu and put it on my wall. like 10 minutes ago, i was laying on my bed and happened to look at the picture sideways. i started freaking out. i was on the phone with my friend and i was so taken aback that i told him about it, and he asked me if i was high. i had that poster in my room forever and i had never seen the face.

i got my poster from machu picchu, so i didn't think they would make it retouched or anything, so i'm thinking it is just the angle they happened to shoot that photo from?

i was so weirded out when i saw it, i was running around the house having all my family come into my room to see it!

I think that photo got 'helped along' a bit.

It must be real, just taken at a specific angle, at a certain time of day.
