Hey There,
Just wanted to share our experiences with fellowtravellers. We just spent some time in Turrialba and we really enjoyed it. It has kind of lost its image as a tourist destination (which i find really weird), which makes it a not so touristy town, although there is lots to do!!! You can go rafting, hiking, mountainbiking, horseback riding etc. We spent 3 weeks here studying Spanish at Spanish by the River. We had an awesome time here. The views of all the surrounding nature, the volcano and the town are just amazing! The teaching was really good, learned lots of Spanish in the time we were there, and the locals are really patient to practice with you. We also stayed at the hostel, which was nice. it's outside of the town, so a good place to study. You can also stay with local families if you want, get involved in volunteering, and join the activities the hostel organises. We just had such a great time!
Hope lots of you give Turrialba the time it deserves, maybe even the time to study spanish for a while!
