Nominate me as a Local Expert



I have been told that biometric passports are almost essential when travelling to the states, is this true? I have a standard UK passport and don't see the need to spend an extra wad of cash updating when mine doesn't run out for another 8 years?

Here's the lowdown on the biometric passport situation. After reading this you may prefer to visit Bagladesh instead.

I didn't need a biometric passport when I was there 2 years ago and neither did my mate who went last week. They take a photo and fingerprints when you get to immigration anyway so you'll be fine.
