Can anyone advise on a good place to stay that is near to the airport and so easy to get there and back again, and also near some reasonable sights to see in a short space of time, so as not to be stuck in the hotel all the time?
Also what is the weather like there towards the end of the year? Does it snow?

No snow in Hong Kong and the rains stop in October. Temperature and humidity drops but it will not be considered cold until January, when it goes to about 12 degrees celcius.

There is a train into town called the airport express that takes 23 minutes. This will get you onto the main Island and close to the sites. As for where to stay, this depends on your budget and I am not a great expert as I live here so have not experienced the hotels.
