And I was born and live in Ulan-Ude (the capital of the Republic of Buryatia) in Siberia (about 160 km from Lake Baikal).

QUOTE(rachellee @ Jun 12 2009, 02:20 AM) QUOTE(semi-backpacker @ Jun 11 2009, 02:11 PM) I was born in Bronx, New York and currently live in Phoenix, Arizona...that's 2,500 miles away! (4,023 kms)
I heard Phoenix a lot times. A nice place. Well, I was born in Lyons, French. Currently teaching French in a Chinese university located in Shanghai. e... far away from my hometown. How far, can you figure it out? Maybe you'll beat Aopaq's distance.

How far, can you figure it out? Maybe you'll beat Aopaq's distance. According to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/dist...=333&p2=237 it is 9363 km or 5818 miles. We should start a thread about the furthest distance you've been away from home as well, that would be neat to see.
