As a former cold weather person with many huskies, I wonder if anyone has tried skijoring, which is like dog-assisted cross country skiing? This is not a well-known activity but I wonder if anyone else has tried? Did you enjoy it?

I don't believe this is widely available in the US...possibly just in Alaska, which I've never been too (though I would love to)...

Very interesting...I don't like cross country skiing really in the first place, so no, I don't think I would do it. I'd rather just do dogsledding.

This sounds really intriguing... though i've been terrified of huskies since the 4th grade when one killed my guinea pig!

Yes, it is a great ride especially if you hook up more like 4 or 5 dogs (I call this "skledding"). As for killing your guinea pig, I am definitely not surprised. One of my big females almost killed a small weiner dog!

That looks fun! As long as there is some good hot chocolate (with marshmallows on top, of course) and a fireplace to return to afterwards.
