Hill Stations
If you are one of those who would love to snuggle closer to each other, in chilly weather, then the hill stations in India will surely woo you. The options include Mussoorie, Dalhousie, Darjeeling, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Srinagar, Shimla, Nainital, Manali, Mount Abu and Gangtok. Visit any of them and find yourself wandering along meandering hill roads and gazing at the refreshing greenery of forest-covered hills, holding each other's hands. Watch the clouds drift over the snow-capped mountains, as you walk through meadows of flowers. Take a stroll through the orchards and breathe in the fresh air of the mountains, experiencing the heavenly fragrance of blooming flowers.
Backwaters Beauty
If you love water, but are not much interested in visiting a beach, then the backwaters of Kerala will surely appeal to you. There are so many places in the state that would offer you the experience of living amidst the backwaters, in a houseboat. The most popular amongst them are Alappuzha, Cochin, Thiruvananthapuram, Thiruvallam, Kumarakom, Kottayam and Kasargod. Mumbai is really crowded!
Its not that i don't like Mumbai, I am going to mumbai mahself next week.
But the best romantic place, according to me can me the north-eastern side of India!
U visit Mawphlong - awesome place
U can actually check an article on www.gofornature.com where the surreal beauty that would surely make you numb...

North-east is still the unexplored site of India

This year we've discovered the most romantic place in India (according to Outlook traveller India guide), Munnar in Kerala.This is real tea country and special place for honeymooners from whole India and the world.

Kerala backwaters are very romantic if you stay on the boats. Northeast - specifically Gangtok is a very nice place. From North India I would suggest Nainital (instead of the more popular Simla, Kulu Manali) and Dalhousie. South Goa (much unexplored) is much much better than the touristy North Goa

I totally agree. If I ever would travel to India my goal destination would be Tajmahal.
