I have a twelve hr. layover in sao pauolo w/2 children any advice appreciated

If it's the international airport (not sure about the other) the metro links to it, so it's easy to get into the city centre and doesn't take long. I didn't spend too long in SP though, and I met up with two local friends who drove me around, so I'm not best placed to advise on what to do, hopefully someone else can suggest that, but thought I'd let you know about the metro anyway

Sorry Kathryn, but there is no metro linked to both airport. Only buses.

Acabrera, because you are with 2 children, I advice you to take a taxi. You can go to Jardim Botanico (a beautiful park) or Liberdade (the china neighborhood). But, I have to tell you. It's going to be expensive, like R$ 100,00 (the international airport is far from the city).

Or, you can take a bus called "Airport Service" and stop on Metro Tiete. Since there, you take the metro until Liberdade Station, and you are going to be inside the chine neighborhood, which is really interesting. This way is going to cost you something like R$ 40,00.

Thanks Maridiana - I remember now - I arrived at the bus station and must have taken the metro from there?!

Thanks for correcting me for the other person, I was convinced I'd got the metro from the airport!
