While we won't be spending the majority of our trip in Europe we want to be able to spend more than just the 90 days.

We are walking the Camino del Santiago which is going to take a nice chomp out of our 90 days - plus we then want to see a LOT more of spain, Croatia and Italy and some quick stops in Germany.

How do RTW travellers who plan as they go work this out?

If I want to spend longer in Spain should I apply for a visa for just spain.

The visa situation is confusing me to how to do this if we are trying to just sort visas as we go next year

Any help much appreciated

cheers

I am going to be in Europe for 90 days and I somewhat know the situation. You can only be in countries a part of the Schengen Treaty for a total of 90 days. These are mainly the countries part of the EU. I know Croatia and the United Kingdom are not a part of it. Therefore here is my limited suggestion. Go to Spain or the other countries, then go to non-Eu countries to stop the count of your days. This allows your 90 day clock to stop. I hope this helps and enjoy your travels. I know I will.
