Hi guys,

New to the forum and relatively new to travel.
We're off to Europe in June and we wish to travel only with carry-on luggage, to economise time and avoid potential 'misplacement' of our possessions.

Airline has told me max dimensions of:
55 x 35 x 25

Does anyone have any specific suggestions? (brand + model) We need to survive for 7 weeks in it!

Oh yeah - brand needs to be available in Aus...

Thanks in advance...

What kind of bag do you want to buy? A backpack or "rolly" suitcase?

I travel with a 35 litre northface bacpack (with the logo blacked out with a marker pen) ..it is too big, I only ever filled it after leaving a cold climate, but still had room for souvineers and normally weigh about 9-11kg.. I wish I had bought a 30 but I'm too attached to it now to change it.. I regularly take photos of other backpackers with 60/70/or even 80 litre packs and joyfully laugh at them struggling.. As long as your misses doesn't carry hair straightners and crap then you should be able to get away with a couple of 30's between you..

(I'm assuming you're the male traveling with a girlfriend, so change the terms at your own will)

Yeah, i'm after a backpack - don't want to look like a MEGA-TOURO draggin this stupid rolly case around behind me every day...

Kris - can you really survive that long from a 35 litre pack? I was skeptical of a 40!

I just have something like this... http://www.salomonsports.com/others/#/bags...revo%C2%B2-35-u

I've never been away for as long as you have, but it does me for 2 weeks, so I'm sure you could use something similar for 7 as well.

I have a Briggs and Riley 22” carry-on duffle which can pack a lot of stuff. I like the Outsider handle system of this wheeled duffle. The bars are on the outside creating a flat area on the inside for packing more things. It’s also got a SpeedThru pocket that stores all of my travel docs for quick and easy access. It’s extremely lightweight and with a duffle you can pack in as much as your airline will allow. Another advantage of Briggs and Riley's world class luggage is that it offers a Simple as that lifetime warranty. You can get it at specialty luggage stores near you – look for a retailer near you on their website. Some of their luggage is on sale right now and I think this one is marked down as well.

If you are finding that you have too much luggage to take home with you, you can send your excess luggage with Baggage Freight. They have the easiest website and it allows you to compare all different prices and companies. I was really impressed and it allows you to book instantly. CHeap and suitable for everyone!

Check it out www.baggagefreight.com.au

Who are you flying with? Most European airlines go with 55 x 40 x 20.
