Just curious.

In the winter time, I have to go to the gym, because I can't ride my bike.

Mostly, I just run on the treadmill while I listen to music or read a magazine or a book.

What do you do to keep fit when the weather is crap?

We have a treadmill. I used to run 1-2 miles a day and do some situps and pushups but... this semester of grad school has been too busy and made me lazy so I stopped. I intend to pick it up again in a few weeks though.

I walk a lot.... I try to walk at least 8 to 12 miles a day!
I walk on the treadmill while watching tv.
Of course if it is a nice day, I can arrange and go walking with friends.
I hate any other kind of gym besides walking. Oh yes, I love swimming as well!
I love walking and I do it so that I can eat more! Luckily everything I like eating are not too fattening.

Thanks for the reminder...I REALLY need to work out. I've been so bad lately.

I don't have to worry about the weather too much. I walk around the neighborhood. I like Wii Fit. We have a treadmill too and a workout machine. I just need to USE them! I also like to do yoga, ballet, and other types of dance from workout videos.

I hate going to gyms.

I like the feeling that running gives me... the same sort of rush I get from biking in and out of traffic every morning!

I don't think there's anything else like it...

I go on an eliptical machine in the gym before breakfast.

I have to go to the gym because at home I won't work out.

I was recently thinking of bringing a portable DVD with me and watching movies because at that time in the morning there is only news, Married with Children and some crap shows I don't watch and some days I simply don't feel like listening to the iPod

LOL, I meant that they rehash the same story 10 times in one hour and I really, really, really couldn't give a hairy rat's ass about who's dating who (which seem to be the majority of what passes for "news" in these United States)

I completely agree with you! (which is one reason why we don't have tv anymore!)

It is true that many people stopped watching tv any more.
I watch just when I walk and exercise ,but most of the times, I just listen to the news from my desk without watching, and for the last two years I managed to do without watching series at all. The time I walk, there are some nice documentaries, and when watching these I feel like traveling myself!
I feel lucky and I am glad that tv does not mean much to me now.

I'm not really fast, so I would run that in maybe 20 minutes? I've also tried to stop taking the elevator if I can get past it. To go to my class I have to go to the 4th floor so I've been running up the stairs [not walking, running] with my backpack on. Added boost. Still make a break at the 5th floor and give in and do the elevator whenever I have to go higher, I don't know why, haha.

I don't go to the gym - the price in England is shocking. I've stopped running for the winter now - it's too dark and cold at the mo, so we're going swimming instead to try and maintain the fitness over winter.

Oh and we'll probably play some badminton too.

Agreed, thankfully I get free gym use with my job... which I use and abuse to the max (kinda counts as working tongue.gif)... I normally run about 30k a week and a few strength sessions, and I'd love to go for a spot of badminton, its been far too long! I am going curling next week as a "team-building" exercise, which should be hilarious given that I can barely stand up on ice without falling over!

Gym for me..particularly in summer as it is far to hot outside..(that is also when the gym is packed to the rafters)...

I do 2 PT sessions a week and I am trying to get myself to go another 1 or 2 times myself...I have also been doing a big of Wi Fit and I just brought the Jillian Michael Wii Programme...to whip my butt into shape!

During the winter, I am still going to the gym, as my pool at home is not ready to use yet...beach.....and I am thinking about taking up Ceroc dancing again (now that my knee is better *touch wood*)

Attached ImageHere Louise I am giving you another idea.
Weather permitting, I go out in the fields as I love nature.
I pick what you see in the photo. This is another way of keeping fit, because to pick these you have to bend and stand, and move around on hills or valleys.
I just love being out in the fields!
I boil them and with olive oil and lemon they taste great. (Low calories as well)

Hmm. . I either walk fast around the pond down the street, or lately I've been going to the gym to work with weights and do crunches. Didn't think I'd like it, but it is a local gym with good people.
