Which destinations could you miss-never visit in your life-and never blink an eye over?

I can't think of any place I've regretted visiting. There are a few place I regretted, when I arrived, but hated to leave.

I've always been interested in-yet never really felt a major draw like I have to other places-to the U.S., Africa and Australia. The first just doesn't appeal to me at all. The latter two I find really interesting yet there's nothing inside me that is pushing me to go to those places.

I could easily miss some European countries. I guess when it comes down to it, most of us are going to be limited to the number of countries we'll visit over a lifetime anyway....

There are some U.S. cities I don't really care for, but I won't list them so as to not offend anybody :-) Other than that, I'm like polydemic, I can't think of many places I regretted visiting.

I think I could die happy without going to Antarctica. It's cold enough in Canada already, and I've had lots of that over my lifetime!

I have to agree with you here both because of the cold and because my favorite thing about travel is meeting people, so why would I want to go somewhere with no permanent population?

Good point...great scenery, but boring... not to mention the environmental impact... it's a fragile place!

No way man...it's one of the last remaining "wild" places on earth. The raw power of nature in such a place would be thrilling to see. It is totally on my short list of places to travel to next!

I'm with Matt. I definitely want to go to Antactica at some point. It's not on my short list, but it's definitely on my list of "places to see before I die." It also helps, that I much prefer the cold instead of the heat :-)

I think for me everything is on a scale. Some places I want to go to more than others. Some would be way down on the list. But I wouldn't necessarily say I would NEVER want to go there. Never say never, you know?

I would definitely not include in my list and don't care at all about the far eastern Turkey. crazy.gif

However, I am interested in visiting the neighbouring Turkey and like very much the people there. flowers.png Besides, most of those places belonged to Greeks in ancient times.
All those ancient monuments like Ephesus, and the one my friend Manzara posted recently were Greek, and now the Turks have them.
For me visiting these places, is like a pilgrim.

And my second No, goes to Antartica. The excellent video which we had on the forums from Antartica was enough for me. I would not feel good in very cold weather. Besides it was so informative that you could see everything in just minutes.

For me it would be certain more isolated countries in central Africa [e.g. the Congo] and western Africa on a whole - definitely doing southern, though.

I've also never really felt any kind of draw to India and pretty much all of the 'stans, mega cultural and historical yes but it just doesn't interest me like the rest of the world does.

There are several places I don't feel the "need" to go before I go to the big travel lodge in the sky but just to make things perfectly clear - that doesn't mean I won't go.

Some of the best places I've been to were afterthoughts, mistakes or just joining someone because they wanted to go.
