Hey all,
I'm in the process of applying for a working visa for the UK and I thought I'd share my mistake to stop others doing the same.
I'll be brief as I've had a big rant about it in my latest travelogue. If you're an Aussie applying for a UK working visa and you don't live in Canberra, then opt to pay the extra $50 odd for postage...
I nominated to submit mine in person, assuming I could do so at the British Consulate in Adelaide (it didn't say otherwise). It wasn't until I had submitted the form that it told me I had to take a paper copy to the High Comission in Canberra.
The Comission's in Canberra airport... but even if you're going there, you can't take any luggage with you, and the wait will be around two hours even if you arrive first thing in the morning.
I know if you're moving o/s you'll be trying to save your pennies but I discovered this is not a good way of doing it!
