TripAdvisor released its list of the most patriotic attractions in America last week, and it's decidedly predictable. The Statue of Liberty and the Freedom Trail top the list.I think everybody's already heard about these attractions, and many people have probably already visited them personally. I know I have.

What I'm more interested in, are the historic places in other countries. What's the most patriotic place to visit in Ecuador or Pakistan?

So, let me know where you think your nation's patriotism is triumphantly on display. For example, in Canada you'll find fervent nationalism at Parliament Hill in Ottawa and Founders' Hall in Charlottetown. These are the obvious choices for the patriotic traveler.

Where should tourists visit to best learn about your country's history?

For the United States there is so much.

Washington DC is not the home of the history but it does have endless monuments to tell the story. Right ouside DC is Virginia which is home to some historic sites (Arlington Cemetery, birthplace of George Washington, and Jamestown!!)

Boston (or all of Massachussetts) and Philadelphia are terrific to see the sites that played an important part for the War for Independence. Endless sites there!!
In Philly you can visit the Liberty Bell or Independence Hall where the Constitution was written.

New York is cool for the Statue of Liberty, but I don't think of that as history. In New York I have visited Ellis Island to learn about immigration into our country as my gradnfather came through there. I love Federal Hall as it is the location where George Washington gave his inaugural address. NY also has a great site for Ulysses S Grant (tomb) and the birthplace for Teddy Roosevelt.

Any state that is the home of a president will have a library at the least.

Southern states will have Civil War sites.

In Atlanta you can visit the birthplace and burial site for martin Luther King.

My state, Florida, has St Augustine which is the oldest continuously lived in city in our country.
