Last time I went by plane, at the last minute, I decided to ditch the liquids just so I could go carryon-only.

Have you ever been divided?

On the one hand: Check the bag and bring AS MUCH SUNSCREEN AS YOU WANT

Or on the other: Go carryon-only and buy it when you get there....

I had quite the dilemma last time, I wonder if anyone else did?

No, even if I'm just going for a few days I check my luggage in, not because I want to take loads of stuff, but just because I can't be bothered to carry it about. I only ever take my handbag on board.

What if they charge you for checked luggage?

Well then I would most certainly leave the sunscreen at home!

Very good point Martin - that is a growing trend. Yes that would stop me, I don't like paying for unneccesary things.

I now travel exclusively carry-on! It makes for much quicker check-ins and arrivals (don't have to wait to pick up your luggage at the caroseuls) and greater flexibility.

For the most part, buying liquids (I don't use sunscreen) is a minimal cost. And it is really not a big deal to pick up cheap extra underwear, t-shirt, etc if needed.

Is TSA checking your underwear for excess liquids now?

Hahaha.... I haven't been checked for that....yet!

I just meant with carry-on, I try to take as little as possible and if I do need some "essential" items, I just buy them. smile.gif

I always prepare, in advance, a suitcase to check in & a back pack to carry on. I make sure that everything in the backpack is allowable for carrying onto the plane & put all those things not allowable (liquids, sharp objects, pointed objects, etc) in the suitcase. I take an empty waterbottle in my backpack then, after going thru inspection, go to the nearest water fountain & fill it up. So with careful preparations, ahead of time, there are no indecisions when I check in at the airport.

Indeed Polydemic, I can see by your icon that you have already packed and are on the way to the airport. But where is your backpack?
