Book your tickets in advance to avoid any last minute uncertainties. Look for a seat that are at the front of the plane as these seats have sufficient legroom. Do not take any seat at the rear end of the plane as they are closer to the engine and causes a lot of noise.

Try to select a flight that does not cause any disturbance to your baby's normal routine. If it is a long journey, then book a flight at night. Then your baby can sleep throughout the journey.

Inform the airlines that you are going to travel with an infant. They will give you detailed information on the facilities that are available for passengers with small babies. Call the airlines office one day before the journey to confirm whether your requirements are on their computer or not.

Flying with baby means lots and lots of baby clothes, baby foods, baby bath care, baby sun care, baby toys and other supplies. However, it is advisable to take only those things that you need and minimize the size, weight and number of bags.

Your diaper bag must contain extra foods and diapers as the flight may get delayed. Also pack baby wipes, bibs, a spare set of baby clothes and a top for yourself. These items will help you in case there is spillages while feeding the baby. A blanket will also help to keep them warm and comfortable.

Both you and your little baby should wear comfortable clothes while traveling. Infants should be dressed in layers which you can change as per the requirement of the environment. You should also dress in layers as it will help in case of spit ups or spills.

On the day of journey, reach the airport much before the flight time to avoid any last minute confusion. If your baby needs a diaper change, do it before boarding the plane as changing on board is not very easy.

During take off and landing, babies feel pressure in their ears and they get restless. To avoid this, try to breast feed them or let them suck on a dummy feeding bottle. This will make the pressure even and they will feel more comfortable.

The above infant air travel tips will help you to prepare you before the journey. However, you have to be positive and keep yourself cool while flying. Follow the above mentioned last minute air travel tips in order to stop any inadvertently delays and confusion. Suppose your baby is crying a lot on flight, do not get nervous if you see other passengers are getting disturbed. Ignore them and try to pacify your child. Do not hesitate to take help from the airline staff as and when required. You will be surprised to see that they are very helpful to parents who are doing air travel with infants.
