i would like to see more of vietnam by travelling on land from hanoi to Ho Chi Minh. Is it possible? How? How long long would be the travel time and how much do i expect to spend?

if i were to do it again i would by a small 125 motorbike and head off to the other end that way.. stay away from the easy riders, they are way overpriced.. buses are cheap but a bit on the dangerous side.. i travelled most of the way by train and met some interesting characters in my cabin, my favourite was a russian couple who had no knowledge of english so spent the day and night using hand signals and being offered vodka shots..

much tnx kris! how long it would take if i take the train? it sounds interesting! are there stop-overs?

i don't know how long it would take non stop but you would be mad to go from one city to the other straight as the best bits are in between.. nha trang is vietnams benidorm so i would skip that but you can stop all the way along as every other dot on the map is a nice place to stay..
