Hi! I'm going to Amsterdam in August. I've been looking for hotels near the airport online, but they seem pretty expensive. Before I commit to one, I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions on budget hotels?? I'll only be there for a night, so I want something relatively close to the airport. I know in some places, it's easy to find a hotel once you get there, for really cheap--vs. booking ahead of time with hotels who have deals with booking sites. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

well the hotels near the airport are always expensieve but you can get the train under the airport and be in amsterdam centraal in 15-20 min. trainticket is about 4 euro one way...take second class...not the first choice you get from the ticket-computer (it's the first class ticket). Amsterdam centraal does have some budget options, but august is still summer holiday in europe so book ahead. I will save time to explore the city!
