*article from Daily Telegraph

this interested me for the simple fact im like who...would pay that much for a hotel????

THE world's first seven-star hotel is offering $1 million holidays with private butler, day trips in a private jet and a stay in a gold-accented suite.

Dubbed the world's first seven-star hotel, the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi has put together a seven-night package that will cost $1,025,000 for two people.

The trip of a lifetime kicks off in style with two first-class return flights from any where in the world.

Once at the Emirates Palace Hotel, you will be taken to your 680sq m three-bedroom suite lined with gold and marble - with crystal chandeliers, a lounge with a 1.5m plasma TV and laptops.

A personal butler will tend to you 24 hours a day between private jet excursions, where guests can claim a handmade Persian rug in Iran, receive a spa treatment at the Dead Sea and hit Bahrain to dive for pearls - which will be fashioned into gifts by on-site jewellers.

The deal includes all food and drink at the hotel's 13 bars and restaurants, while a chauffeur-driven $410,000 Maybach supercar will be available on demand.

The boys can play at the ultra-exclusive Abu Dhabi Golf Club while the girls will make their own fragrance with experts from Yas Perfumes.

Other adventures include a desert island tour, deep-sea fishing and champagne at a romantic venue at sunset.

And you'll go out with a bang! Customers will be treated with a selection of guns from Holland & Holland Sporting Guns. But don't panic; the company will make arrangements to get the goodies through Customs.

Not bad for $146,000 a day!

Can't believe there are such hotels

I wil feel very painful if I stay there. That's a huge amount of money

I tell myself that if someone has billion dollars, he still can eat 3 time per day, dress certain amount of clothes, have sex 1 time or 2 per day, go to toilet several times, sleep 8 hours per day, drink 2 litres of water per day. So they are not happier than we are

Am I right?

Yes, you are totally right. Happiness comes from within and money doesn't come into the equation.

What a waste - but each to their own I guess.

I dont even think they look that nice and especially the one with all the nasty white flash cars outside! If I had that sort of money I could think of so many more satisfying things to do with it!

The Burj al Arab in Dubai is also claimed to be the first 7 star hotel and it has been around for awhile....and you can hire the penthouse with full butler service etc! You cannot visit this hotel unless you are a guest staying or have reservations at one of the restaurants or bar (which has a minimum of AED250 per head spend!)

Me neither! When we went to Dubai we stayed a stones throw from the Burj! Looking at it I was not too impressed, I mean its a cool looking building, but I dont think I would pay all that stuff that Rani mentioned above to stay there! You probably even have to pay for using the toilet roll or for washing your hands afterwards! Hmm... I saw a documentary on this one time about the poor bugger who has to clean the windows and also that they stock a brandy which costs $500 for a single measure! Hmm....But you know that there will be other hotels (obviously already being planned) that will come along and surpass the Burj and so the circle goes on....

Oh my goodness - it wouldn't matter how much money I had, I would NEVER pay that for a shot of brandy - or any drink come to think of it.

I have heard of this brandy, I think my boss had a sample when I worked at the newspaper. He wasn't even going to write about it, they just sent him the invitation, so he went and didn't bother actually getting some good content out of it.
