Buying slow boat tickets online to Thailand?

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 8 Joined: 9-October 09 Member No.: 416731 Nominate me as a Local Expert	Looking to take the slow boat from LB Laos to Thailand end of the month and was wondering if you can book the tickets with someone online or in Ha-noi Vietnam as we are needing proof of our travel back into Thailand to obtain a free 60 day visa in Ha Noi. I know you can get one in Laos but our travels in Laos will be very short and do not want to de-tour down to the capital to get one if we can. Many thanks and any recommendations of slow boat companies which are better than other would be fantastic.

If you are leaving from Thailand, and going to Ha Noi, and then coming back to Ha Noi, why not buy the ticket when you are in Thailand? Newbie Group: Members Posts: 8 Joined: 9-October 09 Member No.: 416731 Nominate me as a Local Expert	I am currently traveling to Ha Noi from Hue today, doing Halong Bay and then entering into Laos i wanted to try and get my free 60 day tourist visa while in Ha noi at the embassy there rather than at the embassy in Laos as we dont really want to travel down and then back up to catch the slow boat back into Thailand. They need proof at the embassy of transport from Laos to Thailand before giving us a new visa. Either bus, boat, plane etc.. so wanted to see whether we could purchase the boat ticket (open one) in advance?
