Hi everyone!

I am new to TravelPod and live in Scottsdale, Arizona. My best friend and I have a BIG trip coming up in May - Europe! We've never been before and are visiting Ireland, England, Brussels and Holland.

So I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. Hi! (waves)

Welcome Uniqueink, I am sure you have come to the right site and this was the best way to make yourself noticed out in the forums. Since you are new start reading some blogs and you can participate out in the forums if you have some time. In this way you will make members notice you and when the time of your trip comes you will have some people following you. You have also picked nice destinations, and I suggest that since you are in Europe why not visit Cyprus or Greece? There are budget airlines and please don't be influenced by the bad comments on the net. It is a beautiful place with wonderful people believe me...only those who rule us are to blame.
So, once again a warm welcome... hug.gif flowers.png

Thanks for the warm welcome, Greekcypriot! Greece is in my top 5 list of places to visit! I'm thinking that will likely be my next destination (a trip with my boyfriend, most likely!). I love Greek food and culture and history and I just can't wait! I'll definitely want to spend a large amount of time there... a few days wouldn't be enough!

Hello, uniqueink, and welcome (as Popi said). Your trip sounds like a lot of fun, and I'm sure it will be. I've always wanted to go to Arizona AND all the places you will be traveling to. Do you have any plans yet for the cities you'll visit?

Hi travel4eternity - and thanks! Arizona is a great place to visit! The best time is in April, when it's cool and breezy and all the flowers are blooming. Normally I would say through early May, but we're expecting it to be up into the 90's this week already so... I'm not so sure how May will fare this year!

As far as plans for each city... we sort of do. We don't want to lock ourselves into too much because we're both kind of free spirits. In Dublin we know we have to visit the Brazen Head Pub, and we have a tour of the Guinness Brewery set up. In London we bought hop on hop off bus passes, so we can go as we please. And we want to try to get on the London Eye. In Brussels we don't really have any such plans, because we're only there one night. We'll explore. In Amsterdam we purchased a City Card, so we can get into a lot of the museums for free (and the Ann Frank House), plus there's a "festival" of sorts going on one night, called the rolling kitchens. But mostly, we're just going to check things off our list and if we don't get to them, well OK. smile.gif

You can call me Julia =)

That's good to know about Arizona, thank you! And it's very hot where I am too, in New England. We had a 70 degree heat wave then it dropped back down to 40, but now it's up at 80-90.

All of those plans sound great! I'm sure you'll run into things or see things that you'll end up wanting to try, so it's good to leave time open to just explore...I'm going to the Netherlands next fall and hope to got to Amsterdam and Brussels, so I can't wait to read your posts about them!

exciting!!! I'll be sure to post good blogs - I hope! haha. While I'm on the road they'll probably be sparse. The TravelPod app doesn't "swivel" when I turn my phone, so I'm going to do my typing on an plain text writer then copy and paste it into the blog... but I don't know how much time I'll have for it! Europe is going to be so exciting and I just want to see everything that I might flesh things out and then re-write them all when I get home. smile.gif We'll see!!

PS: I'm Aly. =D
