Hello everyone,

I'm from the UK. I visiting the United States in November.. I will spend the most of my holidays in San Francisco and i have several things that I'm concerned about..

First:
Accomodiation, It should be a nice Hotel from which I could reach all the sight that I'm interested in.

Second:
Car hire, I'm looking for a small, as cheap as possible car. It has to carry only me and my wife and a some bags.

Third:
The most interesting places that we should definetly see in SF.

I would be glad if someone could advise on these topics..

Thanks in advance..

I'm sure that Kitkatgo will help you out on this when she sees it, but for now, why not check the california starter kit?

Here: http://www.travelpod.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7949

Or some blogs on San Francisco: http://www.travelpod.com/blogs/0/United%20...0Francisco.html

Thanks starlagurl, the link that you posted is really helpful.

Hi!

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time in San Fran. The website below is a good one for an overview of a lot of the sites to visit there.

http://www.mustseesanfrancisco.com/attractions.htm

It really will depend on your interests--there are plenty of great things to choose from.

For a romantic getaway, I suggest a one or two night getaway in Napa or Sonoma which is close to San Francisco. You could also just spend the day if you wish. There are a lot of wonderful restaurants & wineries--of course! in either area. I prefer Sonoma because it is a little more casual than Napa.

For a car rental just compare prices at the main rental companies online: Budget, Hertz, National, & Dollar. I would NOT advise getting a manual transmission...the hills in San Francisco are treacherous with a stick shift!!!! Get an automatic transmission. If you are flying into SFO...just make sure they have a car pickup at the airport (I would think all of them do).
