I love Soviet Architecture. Also the Cathedrals in Kharkov. I'm sure I will see plenty of the metro lol. Maybe show me some nice places to go. I have traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe and love experiencing and seeing new things.

Yes I lived in Zaporozyhe in 2000 for a year and also spent time in Kiev and Lviv. I will update my profile, I have been meaning to do that. I was in a hurry yesterday when I registered here.

Hi Andrew, I am sure I will travel Ukraine after I get settled in Kharkov and see most of it. I would like to visit Poltava, because I have heard it is beautiful and has rich history. I of course will visit Zap and visit friends. I do want to eventually take a trip to the Carpathians. Also Kamanents-Poldosky.

It sounds nice. Well, in case of visiting Carpathians, Crimea, Kamianets-Podilsky (pay attention to spelling), Lviv or Kiev, I can give you any advice about these places. Btw, I have been to Kamianets-Podilsky a week ago, and to Lviv on the last weekend.

P.S. Why did you fall in love with Ukraine? smile.gif

There are many reasons for why I love Ukraine and no it is not just because of the women. I love history and Ukraine is rich in it, especially Zap. Oh and I know about spelling lol, but as you know in Ukraine they have different spelling for everything. (Russian/Ukrainian etc) and of course it all depends on which part of the Country you are in.

Yes, Ukraine is rich in history, but not Zap only. I'd even say that all real history of the Zap city is concentrated on the Khortytsia island. In cities of Western Ukraine you can find more history I think smile.gif

Yes agreed we went to Khortytsia Island after our wedding. I read a lot about the Tartars and Cossacks. And I have also been interested in World War II. I am interested in Western Ukraine I only passed through Lviv a couple times to and from Warsaw. So I did not see much of the City. But I have heard of Archeological digs in Ukraine. Heard about various Castles. It is just nice to be in a Country where the history is endless. In the States the History only dates back a couple hundred years, besides the Revolutionary War and Civil War there is not much more to learn. Other than how we tortured the Indians who were here first and relocated them. Plus slavery and segregation; which disgust me but is part of American History. Even today here in the Southeast people are still racist. It is very unsettling to see how someone could degrade another person simply due to the color of their skin. But that is my opinion.
