Could someone please help with some information on getting to these parks from Chengdu. We want to go there from Chendu (leaving 22nd or 23rd April and returing 25 or 26th April - we have s short time) - 3 people travelling.

Can anyone help with info on busses there - hopefully night busses - departure time, prices and how long the drive is. Or maybe a budget tour - so far we could only find tours arranged by tour operator (via South Africa) for extremely expensive prices. Maybe bus it there during the night and fly back or even renting a car (is driving in China very hard - do they drive like maniacs ignoring rules of the road? eg like in Cairo)

Can someone please help. Joining us will also be great -

I went there by public bus. Took 12 hours from Chengdu or so... Forget about the price... it's cheap... As far as I know there is no public bus over night, but the ride is so nice you should do it during the daytime anyway. The park itself is nice, but VERY touristy... lots of HK tourists, and they all come by tour busses... might be more expensive, but if you have time constraints just ask around once you ae in Chengdu. Oh, you are only allowed to be in the park for two days anyway...but you should take your time - it's very beautiful. I can also recommend to stop at Huanglong... as beautiful...

I also visited there. Bus is not expensive, from chengdu to jiuzhaigou directly, cost about 100 rmb, maybe more now. yes 12 hour on the way, it's long but the view is great if you travel in day time, but I took the night bus last time, on about 8am I got there.

try to avoid the crowd! take your time to wander on the beautiful forest or ley and the peace. the entrance ticket is expensive, including the environmental-protection bus inside the park.

then... I'd recommend the Mounigou near Songpan county. search for "Shunjiang" or "Happy trail" you'll find some nice travel logs.

bus is safe, the drivers won't be like maniacs

no ,chinese have strict traffic rules ,don't be afraid
