Oh - a Chinese Thai friend of mine was at the gym and was asking some questions to another western guy that was there.
Where are you from? Are you married? Do you have kids? Why not?

The answer he got to that last one was: PlorWaa Fan Khong Pom Ben Poo Chai.

Translation: Because my wife is a man.

Ha ha - I think that stopped the conversation for a bit.

What do you do? I don't like that and have difficulty answering.
I do stuff.
I don't like it as it is the start of someone trying to put me in a convenient box (at least sometimes)

I totally agree with this.

Oh!!! I wasn't talking about the locals. I was talking about other travellers.

Locals often ask more important questions like: Are you hungry?

Yeah yeah me too. I see what you're saying tripledot but my beef generally arises from the questions asked by other 'travellers', specifically the real short termers who for some reason, so desperately need to pigeon-hole me..

Ya know, I'm a short term traveller - and I totally agree with you, I hate that other short term travllers seem so obsessed by trying to pigeon-hole people.

Hahaha smile.gif That's funny, that's another popular question we get asked alot, but by locals; why don't you have kids? I don't find it an odd one though at all.....
