I think this is excellent!

Foster's team up with scientists 'to generate clean energy from brewery waste! What a concept!

They are planning on doing this by using 'sugar-consuming bacteria'.
Genius! Check out the article.

University of Quennsland was awarded a $115,000 state gov't grant that will allow them to install a microbial fuel cell near Brisbane at a Foster's brewery.

Prof. Jurg Keller, the university's wastewater expert says he expects one of these fuel cells to produce 2 kilowatts of power which would be enough to power a household.

He also went on to say; "It's not going to make an enormous amount of power it's primarily a waste water treatment that has the added benefit of creating electricity,"

It's pretty innovative and considering we need to look at alternative sources of power, this seems like a pretty good way to harness energy. Even though it won't be massive amounts, it's a good start.

Besides, who doesn't like beer!? Now beer's doing even more for us then we ever thought it could!
