Many of you are probably getting ready for a short or long vacation.
I feel lucky this time that I did not choose to go anywhere because from what I heard and seen over the telly, lucky are those who stayed at home!!
Remember the pictures we saw of Air Terminals, Train Stations and traffic jam stuck in the snow?
Anyway, for those of you who are going to spend some days away from home, read this list of tips before packing. It is a list of tips I came across this morning. Don't miss tip #7

10 Useful Tips:
1. Before departing, check out travel sites, blogs and the destination's Facebook page to find tips and recommendations on shopping, events and restaurants.

2. Maximize packing space. One fan wrote, "Since my husband's shoes are much bigger, I put my shoes, my daughter's shoes, and anything that fits, directly inside of them. No longer do his shoes take up the entire suitcase."

3. Start packing early. Put important travel items in a basket a couple days before packing to ensure that you have everything you need.

4. Always have a small tote of toiletries ready-to-go, so you can pack a suitcase at a moment's notice.

5. Pack a bathing suit just in case there is a heated pool or Jacuzzi.

6. Don't pack all of your clothes in one suitcase. If traveling with others, split up clothes just in case one piece of luggage gets lost.

7. Cut a tennis ball in half. Stuff one half with powdered laundry soap and flip the other half inside out to use as a sink stopper and, voila, - laundry on the go.

8. If you tend to snooze on plane rides, use a sticky note or the back of a business card to write a message to the flight attendant, such as, "Sorry I missed you, but would love a water when I wake up. Thank you!"

9. Create a scavenger hunt for your family during holiday business trips by hiding a few small packages or notes around the house. Texting clues from the road is a fun way to keep in touch with your family.

10. Pack a few sets of blank note cards for your trip. It is a nice way to thank people for exceptional service during a holiday trip.

We usually take a couple of packets of little note clip koalas with us and we do leave a thank you note with the little Koala attached as an extra thank you
They cost us very little but mean a lot to the staff

Oh and one more tip pack a spare pair of underwear and a small toiletries kit in your carry on in case you lose both bags

Agree on the packing of extra underwear, Stewart... especially if you fly Air France!

welcome Suppertime and read other forums and blogs for some extra travel tips and even though you are new Please share what you think is a good tip as u said you never thought of the two bag trick we do that all the time and i can't fit into my wife's bras but she can wear my socks java script:emoticon(':devil:',%20'smid_17')

We don't pack shoes inside shoes, but we always pack underwear and socks into shoes when we travel. Double whammy because it not only saves space but saves your good shoes from being crushed too.

Wow.. great and concise tips specially to those who are new in traveling that no.2 is what i like. i experienced putting some underwear and sando's but never little shoes hahaha you made me smile though maybe will try it the next tym i'll travel..
