So it appears that we could have a non-elect government in less than 6 weeks, maybe even before Christmas.

The West is totally against it, and in "Central Canada" it looks like people say "meh, better this than Harper". What do people / the media say about it in your part of the country ? Is it true that there's a separatist movement in western Canada ?

Yeah, there is a small separatist movement in the west, but I don't think it's very influential at the moment. However, I believe it could grow to be bigger after all this stuff.

I really can't make up my mind on this issue. I think that if the government can't agree on anything ever, then they should find some way to do that, whether it is a coalition or another election, then either way is fine by me.

I'm going to the protests on Parliament Hill at lunch today and also on Saturday for both the pro- and con- rallies, so maybe I'll have a better idea after that.

What do you think, Jon?

LOL ! Absolutely, eh !

Personnally, I thought at first that this coalition thing was by all means not bad, but now to me it looks like personnal ambition and greed of power on both sides. Can't make up my mind right now on this. I know the coalition is supported especially in the eastern provinces and Québec, Ontario being 50-50, and the West is dead-on against it, but as for me... well, we'll see.

Harper and his supporters speak of a coup d'État, and the Dion gang claim it's anti-democratic to suspend the government activities for 6 weeks. I think, they both have good reasons to say so, but sadly, in both cases there's nothing for Canadians to be proud of.

I wonder if it will affect Canada's image (as a fully democratic country) on the world scene.
