Hi

I am just planning a trip for next year to Paris, Milan and Barcelona and before I book the tickets I was wondering if anyone had any tips on the following:
- The best order to visit them
- We would like the holiday to be a 'fashion experience' and a romantic holiday
- Our flight would go Perth-Singapore, Singapore-London, London-Paris (we are flying Qantas). At this stage we are not planning on staying over to get there, which makes it basically 24 hours of flying. Is there any point in staying over in Singapore either on the way there or back?
- If we are looking for the best fashion/romance holiday, would London or Rome be worth including?
- Any tips on what we should do, where we should go?

Thanks

What do you really mean when you say -fashion holiday-?

I would suggest that since you will have much time, you should not leave back without visiting Greece.
You will find really cheap tickets from London if you book early.
And I mean really cheap! Try easyjet for a start.

If you are flying in to Paris, then you've pretty much got a triangle anyway (sort of). I guess you are flying back out from Paris too? You could go Paris, Milan, Barcelona, Paris or just as easily the other way round.

For me, I've been to all three cities and Milan is my favourite of those three, although its not particularly popular as a destination for many for some reason. Fashion isn't really my thing but you will find top shopping areas in all those cities for that kind of thing. As for romantic, that truly depends on who you're with!!!!

London is ALWAYS worth including, but then I'm biased being from England laugh.gif

Really?! I have to say, I heart Barcelona personally...why do you rate Milan so highly Paula?

Anyways, Danmarc, how long have you got for your trip in total? That might help with the suggestions too?

Fo romance in Barcelona, eat out in this street: 'Carrer dels banys Vells' - behind Eglésia de Santa Maria - it's a tiny street off the tourist areas, gorgeous little restaurants, though you may have to get there around 8:30 when they roughly open to get a seat, or pre-book the night before wink.gif

I love Barcelona too, its an excellent city. Milan - well, I guess it was just the whole weekend really that sways me, beautiful architecture - the duomo is superb, the food and the people we spent the time with I guess - it all culminated in a fantastic weekend that is firmly engrained in my memory.

Ah, grand! Do you know what? That's my exact reasons I love Barcelona too. I guess it doesn't always depend on just a city, but your personal experiences while there, what you do and what you see.

It's what you make of it yourself at the end of the day smile.gif

All, thanks so much so far...seems that Barcelona is a winner (like the sound of those back street restaurants). Milan sounds interesting. And Greece, would love to go. Not sure how much we should try and fit in to 3 weeks though.

Just spotted the other question hidden in there in relation to Singapore.. It's a wonderful little city-country with amazing culture, and even if you don't have the time to make a side-trip, 24 hours of straight flying is never a pleasant experience.. tongue.gif

Hey again, if you're flying around, once the jetlag has caught up, Europe's easy to get around, so you'll be able to fit quite a bit in - it's only an hour flight from London to Paris, then not far to Barcelona and not far to Milan...and Greece.

If you have 3 weeks, what about....
1 day and night in Singapore outbound
2 days and nights in London...
4 nights in Paris....
4 nights in Barcelona.....
4 nights in Milan....
3 nights in Athens/Greece.....
1 night in London.....
2 nights in Singapore on the return?

It'll be a starting point anyway, based on what we've all said, and you can plus and minus days here and there to your liking? smile.gif The above is also just based on sticking to the cities - if you were wanting to go other places nearby, you might want to cut something out to.

Do you know what sort of dates you'll be going so we can all keep our ear to the ground for any fashion events? Or by that, do you just mean shopping? wink.gif
