I was reading an article on Beijing's 798 Art District, which looks like a really cool place to tour around. Anyone been?

Beijing Boho

I think it would be interesting to see any art district in China because of the censorship that still prevails in much the country. I'm usually into the art scenes wherevere I go but China's art scene is particularly intriguing.

I wonder if artists feel as free to paint, draw or create how they feel or what they envision like many artists in Europe and the West? It doesn't seem so but I know everything isn't always as it appears.

Has anyone been around those parts?

I've been to 798 District twice now while I've been here in China. I must say it is probably my favourite place in Beijing. It is really something non-chinese and reminds me more of New York' Soho or something. It is really cool! It is this area which used to be old factory area all made to a huge art zone. Full of galleries, studios, restaurants, cafes... I'll write a blog post with pictures about the place so you can see for yourself! smile.gif
