QUOTE(mmbcross @ Jun 20 2008, 12:44 AM) Bloody Brits spend their lives on holiday! The USA must be the meanest country on earth for holiday time, usually at best 10 working days a year (two weeks, including weekends).
We are taking a 10-day driving trip to Yellowstone National Park. It will include Mt. Rushmore, Devil's Tower (featured in Close Encounters of the Third Kind), Little Big Horn Battlefield (Custer's Last Stand), Grand Tetons National Park (literally translated from the Spanish as Big Tits National Park), Salt Lake City and Rocky Mountains National Park. There will be a blog someday.
I'm probably much too late on this, but in case you haven't gone yet . . . When you are in the Mt. Rushmore area, go to the Crazy Horse Memorial. It's also a carved mountain and is much more moving than Mt. Rushmore. The visitor center there is also worth the trip.

QUOTE(mmbcross @ Aug 6 2008, 11:40 AM) Not at all Flew. We leave Miami on the 29th. August. I Googled it and didn't realise it was so close to Mt. Rushmore. We will certainly include it, and as you say, it looks fascinating. Thanks for the tip.
If you don't mind my throwing my 2 cents in, I did an almost 2 month road trip out there. Since you said that you will be going to Devil's Tower and Yellowstone then I want to recommend a drive in between and that is through Bighorn National Forest. It was a real treat on my trip and a spectacularly scenic drive. Also, I don't know if you've made arrangements, but I camped (maybe KOA, but I honestly don't remember) just meters outside of the entrance gate to Devil's Tower and at sundown they show Close Encounters of the Third Kind on a big screen outside and behind the screen is the actual tower glowing naturally in the moonlight. If you don't mind some of my shameless plugging of my site I'm sending you a link to my trip in that region. I must appologize, but I did this trip before I was a TravelPod member so I don't have too many pictures and I can't remember how much I wrote of the places, but at least it gives you an idea of the route and the places if you are interested in taking a look. US '02 roadtripThat's quite a coincidence. I accessed your blog some time ago, but it didn't register that you were one and the same person. Your photo rafting looks quite different from the one in front of the Yellowstone Canyon. Thanks for the tips anyway. I hope you will read my blog after I get back.

P-LEA-SE !!! translated from FRENCH, not Spanish. In Spanish, one would say "las Chichotas" or "Las Tetotas": grandes is not used. In Spanish grammar you say BIG with the word termination...in French, it's used. Even if "Tetons" already means Big Tits..."les grands tetons" is french. donYan: born french speaking in Paris, France. Started speaking spanish as a 5 yearold, in Pamplona, Spain. Resident of México since 1956, started learning English in Texas, 1958.

I think I may be going for a little trip to Hong Kong with Alex! Not sure yet though (around November time, not booked it yet but we found a great deal!)
