Hello all, Sorry to be a pain.

If anyone has any good advice on Egypt for someone looking to live cheaply on a backpackers budget, but doesn't want to drink their way across the country with fellow european backpackers, that would be greatly appreciated

I am extremely interested in snorkelling but a little afraid of diving due to the costs and my lack of swimming ability (I can swim, but not very well).

Local food and surroundings is great (Very interested in cooking), i should soon be able to drive, am 24, male and would probably be alone (A problem in Egypt i know).

Im Interested in the history of the country and famous landmarks

Would probably be looking at going for 2 weeks, time of year is variable depending on advice given but would be restricted to school holidays (Easter, summer, christmas etc)

Ideally not going as some soort of huge touring party, nor to an all inclusive resort.

Hey Ben, have you looked into Couchsurfing.com yet?

You can stay on people's couches. I just did a quick search and came up with a bunch in Egypt.

Hey, thanks for the idea, i used to be a member when i went travelling but was too scared to actually do it. Sounds like a good idea though, i'll check it out.

I've never done it in the Middle East, but in Canada and the US, it's a lot of fun.

i think the best thing to go to Dahab , its very cheap and you can do snorkeling and diving over there and you dont need to be good swimmer , i been there and i liked it a lot

they have there the blue hole and Ras Abu glom is very cool
