Hello everyone! I'm 27S/F from Alabama (fixing to be 28, yikes!). I finished college a few years ago (War Eagle!) and moved back to my "small" hometown, in North Alabama. I'm kind of in the same boat that I heard mentioned before. I just work, and every single friend I have that's from here, or that I met in college are married now, most are starting families and don't have the freedom to do what I do.
Yes, I've thought of moving, but I have a good job opportunity here with a Gov. job. (That means all U.S. Holidays, and tons of annual leave! I can't give that up!) Anyway! I'm looking for a travel partner that would like to plan a decent length trip in advance. IF, they didn't live too far away from where I'm at, we might be able to even do some weekend trips or something like that. The great Southeast U.S. has many places to go as well.
Countries I've been to... Ireland, England, and Wales
Countries I want to go to ....Ireland (yes again), Scotland, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Columbia (Mt. Roraima & Patagonia).
There are places in the States I'm getting around to going to as well, but I have one sister who lives in Oregon that's helping me out in that area, since I go out there to visit a few times a year.
Ideally speaking, I’d like to take a two-week journey summer 2010, on a budget of about 4-5k. Preferably over the July 4th or May Memorial Day holiday weekends, getting a Rail pass, that type of trip. I'd love to find two people in the SE U.S. that would go on the trip, leaving & returning from Nashville or Atlanta.
